Pinched or Compressed Sciatic Nerve Treatment

My name is Michelle Hamel. I am a NMT-LMT, a certified Orlando Neuromuscular, Myofascial Therapist, a skilled Orlando soft tissue pain relief specialist. Your painful nerve injury is caused by a pinched or compressed sciatic nerve and you have found the exact, pinpointed treatment protocols you need for prompt and lasting recovery. Chronic sciatic pain is resolved within 2-5 visits. Within your first visit, you’ll know you’ve chosen the correct sciatic treatment.

How Did Your Sciatic Pain Occur?

The sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in the body. It comprises a group of spinal nerves that begin at (L2-L3) and travel from the spinal cord across the posterior pelvis and down the back of your leg.

This group of nerves begins at the lumbar vertebrae and continues to branch out between the descending vertebrae down through the third sacral vertebrae (S3). When pressure is placed upon this nerve by a disc or a muscle the nerve becomes inflamed.

The more inflamed the sciatic nerve becomes, the further the nerve pain or neuralgia travels down the nerve pathway. Depending on where the sciatic nerve is being compressed, or pinched, the neuralgia you are experiencing may refer from the vertebrae in your low back to the base of your gluteals, your groin, your knee or ankle.

As a therapeutic medical massage expert, I quickly and effectively remove the pressure over your sciatic nerve. I create soft tissue balance between the muscles, tendons, inflamed sciatic nerve and discs. The sciatic nerve needs room to heal, and I provide this balance. Sciatic pain may also be known as entrapped nerve or nerve impingement.

Is it Piriformis Syndrome or a Disc?

At times it can be difficult to know what is causing sciatic pain. Is it a disc problem or a muscle issue? When you analyze it, there is always a soft tissue imbalance. Treat the cause of the problem.

Piriformis is a muscle found deep in the buttocks. The sciatic nerve travels under this muscle. Tightness in this muscle can cause entrapment of the sciatic nerveThis can cause sciatic pain in the buttocks and down the leg.

Sciatica also occurs when a herniated or bulging disc compresses part of the nerve, most often a disc protrusion is the culprit. Protrusion of the disc can cause inflammation, pain, tingling and at times numbness in the affected leg as it inflames the sciatic nerve. This posterior disc movement can be reversed with the correct treatment.

The therapeutic massage techniques I have developed and perfected quickly and effectively lengthen specific muscles, tendons and ligaments which may be causing posterior disc movement (discs moving towards the nerves).

Muscles are part of the lever system which move joints and create movement within our spine. The spine flexes, extends and rotates. Within our daily life everything we do creates flexion of the spine causing an imbalance in the soft tissue.

Sciatic Relief Testimonials

I had seen several practitioners, and had tried spinal decompression, pain meds, and anti-inflammatory drugs with little success. My symptoms were local low back pain and referred sciatic pain to my hip. Now, after a few of Michelle Hamel’s treatments I am back to playing golf 2-3 times a week.” Regards
~Dr. LaRue Collins

“Dear Michelle, I cannot thank you enough for getting rid of my back and leg pain. Over the Christmas holidays I developed sciatic nerve pain so severe I could barely stand or walk. After the first session I began to immediately feel relief. By the 6th treatment I was completely pain free and had complete mobility. This was all done without drugs or injections, no manipulations of my spine or decompression. I cannot thank you enough”
~Dr. Edwin Szczepanik, D.M.D.

“I began experiencing pain in my right hip and groin area, followed by ever increasing numbness in my right thigh. After visiting my primary care physician, I was referred to one of Orlando’s prominent orthopedic clinics. After a couple office visits there, x-rays, MRI, physical therapy, and anti-inflammatory drugs, my condition did not improve very much. Fortunately, when mentioning this to a friend who I found had a similar problem in the past, he recommended Michelle Hamel at The Neuromuscular Pain Relief Center. After a consultation with Michelle, and her review of my history on this matter, including radiology reports, Michelle suggested my problem might be a bulging disc, not a hip, groin, leg, or other area problem after all. The pain from those areas was originating at the source of the problem, a bulging disc problem pinching my sciatic nerve. During a few weeks of soft tissue treatment by Michelle, my pain subsided and was eliminated. Michelle also guided me in establishing some continuing self help treatment. Her work has prevented the sciatica from returning. I highly recommend Michelle Hamel to anyone with back problems, and/or herniated, bulging disc, sciatic nerve problems.

“Thank You Michelle for helping me in so many ways. My neck pain and sciatic pain are gone and I know now how to take care of myself in order to prevent the pain from coming back. You are amazing!”
~ Rachel Chase

“Thank you, again, for a great session last night. I am training for my next half marathon, but the previously manageable pain in my hip and knee quickly became debilitating. I had seen a local orthopedic doctor who told me that I was getting older and needed to stop running because of my damage to my hip. That’s not going to happen! I was reluctant to see another doctor and had heard some terrible things that can result from cortisone shots. I don’t want temporary relief, I want *healing.* A friend recommended Michelle and after just two sessions, I am back to running pain free! You showed me that my hip pain was coming from my lower back.”
